THE GÖLTEPE / KESTEL PROJECT

SWORDS, ARMOR, AND FIGURINES

Isotopic analysis of a fragment from the silver/gold helmet on this nude male statuette from Tell Judeidah showed that it originated in the same mining sector as the tin of its predominate tin-bronze alloy. At one time holding a club and long spear in his hands, this Chalcolithic/EB I diminutive figurine represents one of the earliest examples of tin alloys.
