Almost exactly four years after it started, the Oriental Institute WWW site has an entirely new "look and feel", and we have switched the server hardware to a Sun SPARCstation 10 computer to provide faster response times. Visitors to the site can relax, however, because no previous pages have been removed, and the server switch should be transparent to most users.

We have tried to simplify navigation around our website by devising a banner that appears at the top of all primary homepages. This banner contains an on-line navigational aid, which explains all the links contained in the banner area.

Other new documents accessible from this banner area include:

Oriental Institute Announcements
Oriental Institute Public Programs
Supporters of Oriental Institute Electronic Resources

New documents pertaining to the Oriental Institute and/or our WWW site include:

A Table of Contents for the entire Oriental Institute WWW site
Oriental Institute Electronic Resources
Travel Directions to the Oriental Institute

As always, we welcome comments from visitors to the Oriental Institute WWW site, especially now that we are presenting a very different face to the public.
