Director of the Epigraphic Survey Ray Johnson was instrumental in identifying a match between a portrait of Antinous in Chicago and a bust in Rome. The results are features in a video by the Art Institute of Chicago "A Portrait of Antinous in 2 Parts." The exhibit arose from our colleague Ray Johnson’s discovery that a fragmentary sculptured head of Antinous in Chicago at the AIC matched a fragmentary bust of Antinous in Rome. This allowed the fragments to be digitally re-united – its a very impressive piece of work. You can view more in the video on YouTube at this link.
