Oriental Institute Intern Application
Thank you for your interest in applying for an internship at the Oriental Institute. Internships at the Oriental Institute are engaging educational experiences designed for university undergraduate and graduate level students. Interns have an opportunity to gain practical skills as well as work on projects that are meaningful and will provide them with resume-building experience. Working alongside staff members in a tutorial arrangement, interns gain skills and training in museum best practices as well as current museum education theory and hands-on practice.
Internships are available in the following areas:
- Public Education and Outreach
- Museum Curatorial
- Collections and Registration
How to Apply
All Applicants must submit online:
- an application (see the link below)
- two letters of recommendation from current or former college professors, academic advisors or recent/current employers
- a resume or curriculum vitae
Summer internships as well as full academic year internships are available for students who qualify. The work schedule is determined with the guidance of assigned department sponsors.
After receiving completed applications, applicants will be scheduled for an interview. After the interview, the staff will make placement recommendations. Applicants will receive a call within two weeks of the date of interviews to advise of placement status and what the next steps will be.
