Mesopotamian Gallery: Temples, Palaces, and Cities
Cases on the left display objects from foundation deposits that were buried beneath strategic parts of temple walls, show the plans of a number of different Mesopotamian temples, and illustrate some of the methods that were used to decorate both the interior and exterior walls of these monumental buildings. To the right are illustrations of and objects from the extensive palaces built by Mesopotamian kings as well as information about some of the most important cities in the land - Ur, Eshnunna, Nippur, Nineveh, and Babylon.
