An account of two visits to Iraq to examine damage to archaeological sites from looting and military occupation The first took place in early May 2003-immediately after the war, and was sponsored by the National Geographic Society. The second was in June 2008 and was supported by the British Museum and British army. Topics to be discussed will include changes in the infrastructure for site protection, the military occupation of Babylon and evidence of looting of archaeological sites.
