EGYPT: Luxor - Tutankhamun colossal statue as discovered. In 1931, the Oriental Institute excavated the ruins of the mortuary temple of kings Aye (reigned 1325-1321 B.C.) and Horemheb (reigned 1321-1293 B.C.) at Medinet Habu in Luxor, Egypt. In the course of the excavation, they discovered two fragmentary colossal statues of a king. This one was given to the Oriental Institute.
