Tom Van Eynde: Thebes Photographic Project

The Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III (ca. 1182 B.C.) at Medinet Habu. Second court, western colonnade. View is to the northeast looking up the aisle. The colonnade forms a portico before the door of the hypostyle hall (located left of the viewer). The square columns were once abutted by osiriform statues of Ramesses III, many of which were removed in late antiquity to accommodate building of a Christian church in the court.
