Tom Van Eynde: Thebes Photographic Project



The Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu. First Pylon, western face of the southern tower. The view is from the area of the royal palace adjoining the south wall of the Temple Proper. Sculpted on the pylon is a scene of Ramesses III (ca. 1182 B.C.) in his chariot hunting wild bulls in the marshes. To the right are the ruined doorjambs of the columned hall and throne room of the palace. To the left are the staircase and platform leading to the window of appearances inside the first court of the temple. (Caption - Peter Piccione)


All the photographs were made with a Fujica G617 Panorama Camera. The film is TriX. The prints are made on llford Mulitgrade Fiber base paper. The original prints are 7"x22" on 10"x24" paper.
