Tom Van Eynde: Thebes Photographic Project

The Temple of Amun at Karnak. First Pylon, probably built by Nectanebo I in Dynasty 30 (c. 380 B.C.). Before the pylon is the Avenue of Sphinxes of Ramesses II (c. 1279 B.C.). The construction of the pylon was left unfinished, accounting for the odd heights of the towers and the undressed nature of the building blocks. Each tower measures 113 m. wide and 15 meters thick and originally up to 40 meters high. (Caption - Peter Piccione)

All the photographs were made with a Fujica G617 Panorama Camera. The film is TriX. The prints are made on llford Mulitgrade Fiber base paper. The original prints are 7"x22" on 10"x24" paper.
