Tom Van Eynde: Thebes Photographic Project

Temple of Amun at Karnak, First Pylon, view from the northwest. These towers function as the main entrance to the great temple of Amun. They were probably begun by Nectanebo I in Dynasty 30 (c. 380 B.C.) but were never completed. This photograph is carefully composed to capture both towers in the same frame while still managing to convey the imposing size and grandeur of the edifice. (Caption - Peter Piccione)

All the photographs were made with a Fujica G617 Panorama Camera. The film is TriX. The prints are made on llford Mulitgrade Fiber base paper. The original prints are 7"x22" on 10"x24" paper.
