Tom Van Eynde: Thebes Photographic Project



The Temple of Amun at Karnak. Avenue of Sphinxes before the First Pylon, northern rank. These crio-sphinxes, which have the body of a lion and the head of a ram, depict the god Amun-Re. They were erected by Ramesses II (c. 1279) and thereafter usurped and reinscribed by Panedjem I in Dynasty 21 (c. 1070 B.C.). (Caption - Peter Piccione)


All the photographs were made with a Fujica G617 Panorama Camera. The film is TriX. The prints are made on llford Mulitgrade Fiber base paper. The original prints are 7"x22" on 10"x24" paper.
