Tom Van Eynde: Thebes Photographic Project



The Temple of Amun at Karnak. The monumental shrine called the Akhmenu, which Thutmose III built in honor of his Sed Festival (30-year jubilee). This structure was located east of the main sanctuary of Karnak Temple, outside the rear wall of the main structure. The view of the exterior is looking north along the facade. The interior columns are in the form of giant tent-poles. (Caption - Peter Piccione)


All the photographs were made with a Fujica G617 Panorama Camera. The film is TriX. The prints are made on llford Mulitgrade Fiber base paper. The original prints are 7"x22" on 10"x24" paper.
