Chicago's Field Museum is one of the few institutions in the world to have complete Old Kingdom tomb chambers as part of its permanent collection of Ancient Egyptian artifacts. The Offering Chambers of the tombs of Unis-Ankh and Netcher-User were obtained by the museum in 1908, and were later installed as part of the museum's Egyptian exhibition. This presentation will detail the excavation of the tomb chambers and their importance as examples of funerary structures from the Old Kingdom.

Bob Andresen is an independent scholar who has been studying the tomb chambers and conducting guided tours of them for the past 14 years. He is the President of the Chicago Chapter of the American Research Center in Egypt, and serves on the ARCE National Board as Chapter Council Representative. Prior to his retirement, he spent 40 years in the broadcast news industry as a reporter, writer and producer.

These lectures are sponsored by the Illinois chapter of the American Research Center in Egypt.
