On Thursday–Friday, March 7–8, 2019, the OI will host the 15th annual OI Postdoctural Sypmosium about "Pomp, Circumstance, and the Performance of Politics: Acting Politically Correct in the Ancient World" organized by Kathryn R. Morgan. The talks cover a wide geographical and chronological range of the ancient world, and presenters include anthropologists, archaeologists, philologists and historians, among them University of Chicago faculty Margaret Andrews (History), Catherine Kearns (Classics), and James Osborne (NELC). Responses & discussion will be moderated by the OI's own Jean Evans (Session 1, Thurs AM), Seth Richardson (Session 2, Thurs PM), and Gil Stein (Session 3, Fri AM).
