Tell 'Imar al-Sharqi is located in the central part of the Amuq Valley near Tell Kurdu. It is a large, low-lying site measuring approximately 500 x 350 meters. In 1998, the Amuq Survey team visited the site in order to record stratigraphic information revealed in sections created by recent earth moving activities. Ceramics indicate that the site was primarily occupied during Amuq Phases F and G (late 5th to early 4th millennium BC). During that time it may have been the largest site in the Amuq.
