Begin with the basics of the major bones in the human body, and then learn about how archaeologists use ancient bones to learn about the past from a real bioarchaeologist!

Become a bioarchaeologist for the day!

All Bones About It is temporarily unavailable during the OI Museum's limited reopening. Check back for updates.

Think skeletons are just for Halloween? The bones inside you would disagree: you use your skeleton every day! What’s more, written on your own bones is the story of the physical activities you take part in and the food you eat. Explore how this knowledge helps archaeologists learn about the lives of ancient people while also learning how to help your own bones tell the great story of healthy living. Work with a real bioarchaeologist, investigate our mummies' bones, and see a real human skeleton in this hands-on, kids' crash course in bioarchaeoloy!
