Investigating Shelter – Investigating a Neolithic Dwelling at Jarmo
This curriculum features:

  • Engaging students in investigating two real archaeological sites on the upper Euphrates River
  • Guiding students to uncover the changes in diet as people shifted from foraging to farming
  • Exploring contemporary nutrition through designing a healthy eating plan for the school based on information drawn from the study of the past

Grade Level: Grades 3 through 5 (easily adaptable to middle school)

Investigating Nutrition: The Advent of Agriculture in Mesopotamia
This curriculum features:

  • Engaging students in using geography, history, and archaeology to learn about a Neolithic dwelling and the lives of people in ancient Mesopotamia
  • Guiding students to understand the Neolithic Revolution through incorporating primary sources, artifacts, and maps of the Jarmo site
